A project within the framework of the Elisabeth-List Fellowship Program for Gender Studies at the University of Graz
The project "In/Visible Endometriosis: Menstruation, Menopause and Narrative Medicine", initiated by PhD student Alekszandra Rokvity and her supervisor Ulla Kriebernegg, is funded as part of the Elisabeth-List-Fellowship Program 2023.
The project examines endometriosis as a case study of social injustice faced by women in a gendered healthcare system. By bringing together experts from the arts and humanities, medicine and ageing research with activists and artists, the project promises to offer a unique, interdisciplinary look at living and ageing with a chronic illness.
Prof. Dr. Anita Wohlmann (SDU Odense), an expert in narrative medicine, is involved in the project as an incoming fellow. Alekszandra Rokvity and Laura Sigmund are working as junior fellows.
