Master's Programme Plus "Health Humanities"
Let's Talk About Health! Social Dimensions of Health and Illness
From summer semester 2026, CIRAC will be offering one of the first Health Humanities study programmes in the German-speaking world.
In the Health Humanities module, students will explore how health and illness are understood in different social, historical and cultural contexts. They examine how literature, film, art, philosophy, history and sociology make aesthetic, ethical and cultural ideas of health and illness visible - and how these are linked to medical progress, social inequality and political and economic decisions. Students gain insights into the practice of healthcare and thus sharpen their focus on central social challenges.
