24-hour carers: work in Austria under precarious conditions. The situation of those people who urgently need this form of support is also precarious. The relatives and relatives of the cared for are also affected. Many other actors are involved in the entire system: they shape, shape, endure or use it. The project “24 h. we stay awake ”is a multi-layered and polyphonic, interactive performance that takes place in a room (BRUX Free Theater Innsbruck) for 24 hours and thus consciously goes to the limits of the resilience of artists and the audience. The “patient” who is “looked after” here once for 24 hours is not a person, but the Austrian system of 24-hour care.
