Online Lecture at the FU Berlin: "Care Concepts and their Potentials in Media Ecologies"
Stefan Schweigler, research associate at CIRAC, will give a lecture on the keyword "Care" as part of the lecture series "Key Concepts in Media Cultural Studies" at the FU Berlin.
In the first part, the lecture will outline an introduction to concepts of care and their relevance for the history of Media Studies. In the second part, some exemplary potentials of a politicized concept of care will be presented on the basis of the US-American dramedy series "Pose." In doing so, it will be shown that critical practices of care in HIV/AIDS narratives are not only represented in terms of content, but can also be recorded on the level of media dispositives.
