On 19 March 2026, two of our CIRAC members were each awarded a grant from the Dr. Maria Schaumayer Foundation:
Laura Hochsteiner for her Master’s Thesis “The World Will Finally See Us As We Are”—Dis/ability and Life Writing: Taking Control of the Narrative in Alice Wong’s Year of the Tiger (2022)”, written at the University of Graz.
and
Sandra Radinger for her Doctoral Thesis “The Experience of Languaging. Integrating Applied Linguistics and Philosophical Practice in the Study of (English as a) Lingua Franca Communication”, written at the University of Vienna.
The Foundation specifically supports promising female researchers.
