Zita Hosszúová, Jakub Mróz and Stefan Schweigler—member of the Elisabeth List Fellowship Project “Gender Matters”—were this year’s jury for the International Feature Film Competition Award at the 24th Mezipatra Queer Film Festival in Prag/Brno.
The Award was bestowed upon the film PEAFOWL (D: Byun Sung-bin, Korea 2023). Impressively, the film about a trans protagonist negotiates practices of ritual mourning as a form of cultural care work and thereby sensitively portrays intergenerational conflicts and solidarities.
