"Whether at the G7 meetings or on Fridays in the various European cities: when demonstrations are held for measures against climate change, the reference to the fact that a large part of the demonstrators are young is rarely missing. The staging of climate change protests as a generational conflict, however, is in danger of producing invisibilities - and misses the chance to rethink central issues together. Considering the effects of deficient images of age(s) and (implicit) ageism, as well as incorporating the findings of critical aging studies into the climate discourse, also holds new possibilities for the climate discourse."
