The Endometriosis (R)Evolution: Making the Invisible Visible conference took place on the 23 and 24 May 2024 in Forum Stadtpark, in Graz. The conference hosted scholars, artists, and researchers in various disciplines from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Germany, France, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Italy, as well as local academics. This unique international gathering showcased a wide range of different perspectives on living with endometriosis – a chronic condition which is estimated to affect 10% of the world’s female population. CIRAC is very proud to have hosted an interdisciplinary event which included interactive workshops, paper presentations, and research posters.
The Endometriosis Revolution website features more in-depth information on the conference. You can also find the Book of Abstracts and the official photo gallery online.
We are especially proud to have hosted artist Rachael Jablo and her first solo art exhibition in Austria – The Hysteria Project. Ms Jablo held the keynote lecture of the conference and opened the exhibition which was visited by over seventy people. The opening of the exhibition was celebrated with prosecco and organic, vegetarian, sugar- and gluten-free catering.
The conference was officially opened by the Director of CIRAC and the Project lead, Prof. Dr. Ulla Kriebernegg, and other members of the In/Visible Endometriosis: Menstruation, Menopause, and Narrative Medicine Project team, Prof. Dr. Anita Wohlmann, Alekszandra Rokvity, and Laura Sigmund.
