The dissertation is titled "Human Ascension and Its Perils - Transhumanism and Class in 21st Century Literature and Film." This dissertation takes the contemporary transhuman movement and other research that fits into its paradigms of upgrading the human via technology, and contextualize it with literary and film representations of it. Doing so, it illuminates both commonalities and discrepancies in the respective visions of human futures.
