Martina Zimmermann

King’s College London

“An Agenda for the Medical Humanities and Ageing: A ‘Biological Turn’ in the Medical Humanities That Integrates Narrative and Empowers Policy” (Lecture in English)

 

Martina Zimmermann is a Reader in Health Humanities and Health Sciences in the Department of English at King’s College London. With a long-standing background in neuropharmacology (including a Habilitation in Pharmacology from Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany) and a second PhD in the Health Humanities, she has written two monographs on cultural and scientific narratives of dementia. She currently leads a research programme on ageing, The Sciences of Ageing and the Culture of Youth, funded by a UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowship.
