Prof. Dr. Ulla Kriebernegg New Associate Editor, Humanities & Arts, The Gerontologist

The Gerontologist, New Editor, Humanities & Arts – The editorial team is pleased to announce the appointment of editorial board member Dr. Ulla Kriebernegg, to Associate Editor, Humanities & Arts.  Dr. Kriebernegg is director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care (CIRAC) at the University of Graz in Austria. Her emphasis in research and teaching is North American literary and cultural studies, Aging and Care Studies, and Medical Humanities. She is deputy chair of the European Network of Aging Studies (ENAS), co-edits ENAS’ Aging Studies book series, and is a member of the GSA’s Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Gerontology Panel. Dr. Kriebernegg is a Fellow of the Trent University’s Centre for Aging & Society (Canada).

Kate de Medeiros, PhD, FGSA, the outgoing Associate Editor, will remain as an editorial member of the journal. We thank Dr. de Medeiros for her excellent work promoting and refining the Humanities and Arts mission of The Gerontologist and wish her the best in her new pursuits.

 

The Gerontologist®, published since 1961, is a journal of The Gerontological Society of America that publishes applied, multidisciplinary research and analysis on social issues related to human aging. It informs the broad community of disciplines and professions involved in understanding the aging process and providing care to older people. The Gerontologist encourages manuscript submissions of various types: research articles, review articles, measurement articles, and forums. Book and media reviews, International Spotlights, and award-winning lectures are commissioned by the editors.

The Gerontologist's impact factor 2020 is 5.271 and the journal is #3 among all journals in the gerontology category.
