Robot and Frank at the CareAgeCinema - Putting Age and Care on Screen film series

Film series at the Filmzentrum im Rechbauerkino

On 24 November 2022, Robot & Frank, the second film in the CareAgeCinema - Putting Age and Care on Screen film series, was shown at the Rechbauerkino.

The cinema was full and a discussion followed the film screening, highlighting essential aspects of the film from a scientific perspective. Stefan Schweigler BA MA (Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care - CIRAC) talked about the interface of "robot" and ethics of care Dr. Gerhilde Schüttengruber (Institute of Nursing Science, Med Uni Graz, and Age and Care Research Group - ACRGG) discussed the role of robots in care, and Dr. Eva-Maria Trinkaus (CIRAC and ACRGG) dealt with the images of old age conveyed by the film, and also with other aspects. Through the interesting discussion, new perspectives on the film were raised, which allowed for a broader reflection.

Next date of the film series:

19 January 2023: Ruthless Times: Songs of Care (2022)
Finnish with English subtitles

The event is a cooperation of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care (CIRAC) and the Center for Southeast European Studies (CSES).

The CareAgeCinema cinema series is a cooperation of the Age and Care Research Group Graz, the Elisabeth List Fellowship Project "Gender Matters: Aging, Care, and Migration," and Radio Helsinki 92.6 - Freies Radio Graz at the Filmzentrum im Rechbauerkino.

The event is co-financed by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Grant Agreement No. 101029279.
