The keynote lectures of the experts from the Age and Care Research Group Graz on various aspects of the topic "Raumbildungen," which were presented in the context of age(ing) and care, were met with great interest. The keynotes were followed by a fruitful discussion with the participants, who contributed further interesting aspects to the topic. Central questions of the workshop were what "good life" in old age mean and which foundations we need in order to depict contemporary images of age spatially effectively - and visibly for society. In order to answer these questions, a multidisciplinary look at these images of age(ing) was taken, in order to deconstruct existing narratives and to rethink them in order to ensure a better living together and for each other. The participants in the discussion were: Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Ulla Kriebernegg (Uni Graz), Univ.-Prof. Arch. Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Lichtblau (TU Graz), Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christa Lohrmann (Med Uni Graz), Architect Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Mitterberger, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Regina Roller-Wirnsberger (Med Uni Graz), Rivka Saltiel MA (Uni Graz), and Univ.-Prof. Mag.art Werner Strenger (KUG). The evening, which was also attended by guests of honor, Mayor of Graz Elke Kahr and Rector Harald Kainz (TU Graz) who also shared their perspectives on age(ing) and care, was moderated by Assoz.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Klaus Wegleitner (Uni Graz). The event was organized by the Age and Care Research Group Graz in cooperation with the Institute for Housing. |
