More and more areas of our everyday life are being digitized. Daily activities such as reading the newspaper are also often carried out using apps. The research project “App-Solute News” deals with the question of what effects the digitization of newspapers has on younger and older people. Are attitudes to this age dependent? What fears, difficulties, but also possibilities is this digitization associated with? Multimedia stories, so-called "Digital Stories" about newspaper reading, which are told together in intergenerational teams, are scientifically examined. Are prevailing images of age confirmed or refuted? The results help Styrian companies to promote professional competence development, to make digital applications accessible to all age groups and to avoid the "Digital Divide."

Funded by the Land Steiermark (State of Styria) (A8) as part of the call for proposals "Zukunftsfonds: Auswirkungen der Digitalisierung auf die berufliche Kompetenzentwicklung" Duration: 1 March 2020 - 31 July 2022, project management: Assoz. Prof. Mag. Dr. Ulla Kriebernegg
