Interoception: Artistic Explorations of Loneliness, Aging, Grief, and Death
CIRAC Roundtable
CIRAC cordially invites you to the roundtable which offers an opportunity to engage with the question of how aging, disability, loneliness, grief, and death can be made visible through artistic and scholarly practices. Its point of departure is interoception—the perception of internal bodily states. At the center is the question of how perception emerges and how it is shaped artistically, medially, and discursively. On the panel, Garry Barker (Leeds Arts University), Katja Heitmann (Tilburg, NL), Iza Kavedžija (University of Cambridge), and Sonja Rinofner-Kreidl (University of Graz) will discuss their perspectives on interoception and its significance for artistic engagements with loneliness, aging, grief, and death.
Date: Tuesday, 12 May 2026, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Forum Stadtpark, Stadtpark 1, 8010 Graz
